One of the most talented young drivers to ever slide behind the wheel, Jesus Hernandez has proven successful at every level in which he has competed. Racing is in Jesus’ Blood. Prior to his birth, his father, along with three uncles, were par-time racing enthusiasts and full-time mechanics who ran their own repair shops-first in Mexico then in California.

Their business, the Fresno Carburetor Shop, became a racing sponsor when Jesus was just 15 years old. But he had to prove himself a worthy driver against four other hopeful contenders.

A homemade go-cart was constructed and the five aspiring drivers raced in the shop’s parking lot. Jesus and his uncle Guillermo were the two finalists who would get a chance to drive for the shop in the entry-level Toyota Sedan division at Madera Speedway.

With limited cash for a car, the family secretly chose Uncle Guillermo’s personal car, a Toyota , by coincidence, to be their future racecar. While his uncle was distracted one day, Jesus and another uncle began stripping the Toyota and transforming it into a pure racer. Of course, once he discovered the plot, Uncle Guillermo couldn’t have been more pleased, or proud.

In 2007, Jesus accepted his latest challenge racing in six different series for Ginn Racing and Dale Earnhardt Inc, posting six top five finishes, sixteen top ten finishes including a third place finish in the Grand National East West combination race at Iowa Speedway.

In 2006, Jesus was the first Hispanic in Hickory Motor Speedway’s History to win a Main Event in a Late Model Stock Car, Twice! That also include three poles and two outside poles.

In 2005 Posted one top five, 6 top ten finishes as well as being his first year as a participant of Drive for Diversity.

Before relocating from California, Jesus was able to capture back to back Track Champion Titles, Two Rookie of the Years Honors, One Track Record while running at Madera Speedway and Irwindale Speedway, CA.
