2008 Post Race Reports:

Greenville Pickens Speedway 2008
Good to be back racing. The off season always seems like an eternity and you
just can't get back on the track fast enough. As we waited around to practice
we struggled with Mother Nature as we endured several periods of rain
throughout the day leaving everyone wondering if we were going to have the
opportunity to qualify.
Fortunately, after long awaited period we were able to get on the track.
When it came down to qualify Fuz had made several chassis changes and I was
hoping we didn't go too far. We were able to lay down a solid top ten
qualifying run with that package and made the show.
At the start of the race I knew we had a top five car, I also knew that the
right rear tire was going to be both my best friend and my worst enemy. It
seems as though once you knock the good off the tire it quickly becomes a
handful throughout the race. Pacing myself and having good restarts helped
place us in the top five relatively early in the race. At this point I knew it
was in my best interest to "ride" and save the right rear.
After several laps of riding in the top ten it was time to pick up the pace.
We had struggled with brakes in practice especially the right rear locking up.A
combination of that along with losing communication with my spotter for a few
laps cost us positions. We were involved in a wreck that put us behind with
considerable damage. It was more so a handful then ever now to drive. We
finished the race, the car was still rolling...somewhat.
It's always unfortunate when you don't bring in the finish at the end of the day knowing you were running towards the front. There are days when things are not in your control and this was one of them.
