Lime Rock Park
Mohegan Sun 200
August 16, 2008

The trip started with a consideration for what would again be a possibility of rain. With questions of what kind of track time we would get on our practice day, we were off, and up for our next challenge.

I remember our trip to Lime Rock Park last year as beautiful scenery, great weather and my first taste of Road Racing. It's amazing what a year will do. I felt so much better going back there, having had Watkins Glen in between. (4th place finish earlier this year.)

Practice

Contrary to the Weather Man, the rain held off and we were able to hit the track. We stayed top ten in first practice and made several big swings on the chassis for the second practice. At the end of the Practice session, our time wasn't indicative of what our chassis could do, being we never made a mock Qualifying run and our times got faster on older tires. At this point the chassis was the best it felt all day.

Qualifying

As we made all of practice without fighting the rain, it was, well expected that we would deal with it before the day was over. Sure enough we got about as close as you could get for qualifying and it was called off due to rain.

Race

The Line-Up was based on Points which going into the Mohegan Sun 200 we were 4th in points. Great place to start, towards the front. As the race unfolded Fuz made several calculated decisions that kept us in the group we needed to be in. As we cycled through pits stops we were able to make our way up to 3rd, and with patience and being Cautiously Aggressive we brought home another top five for the season as well as my third straight 4th place finish in a Road Course. The team put forth an awesome effort and at the end of the day it paid off. Next in the cross arrows is Mansfield, it's Go Time!
