2008 Post Race Reports:
=========================================================
New Hampshire Motor Speedway
After a solid run at the road course I was ready to go back to New
Hampshire. We had strong cars here the last two times and have ended up being
in situations out of our control. This time was different though...well it
starts the same as the last few, with rain.
Qualifying was actually rained out this time, earlier in the year we had
several threats of this but never got down to it. This was great news because
we were to go first out to qualify which in this situation with different tire
compound on the race track would have given a distinct advantage to those that
did not go out first.
In anticipation of the track conditions to change we adjusted the chassis
accordingly. Wasn't long after the green flew and I informed Fuz that we might
have ever-so-slightly over adjusted on the chassis. Of course that was an
understatement. However when our window to pit came we toped off and tuned on
the chassis. Not long after that we worked our way into the top ten and kept on
working up through the field. Soon I found the chassis really coming into its
stride. We passed for second and ran down the leader. After several restarts we
would fall back in line and start making up time on the leader.
On one particular restart we had an over eager driver jump the start making it three wide getting into turn one, I found myself in the worse spot for this situation as I was taken to the wall. With some right front damage we restarted on the pole, not long after we started to fade back as the handling didn't stay with me and we finished with a twelfth place finish. Overall we had a great car, Fuz made awesome calls and had the race unfolded a bit differently this would be a completely different race report. However I know at one point we were the fastest car on the track and as long as we keep working like we are, it won’t be the last.
